| Nothing's there yet, but I'll probably begin blogging at http://www.morpheusverge.com in a few weeks. .. since I'm also not sure if anyone (other than you Sunny =)) reads this anymore. I'll be starting an online comic that will be uploaded there. I don't think there's anyone I contact through Xanga that I can't contact by any other means... so for now, this is good bye. =) | | |
| I had court day today for driving with an expired license. Got
caught at a sobriety check-point (I think most of you already know,
since I just wouldn't shut up about it since then). It was an
interesting experience... First, I saw the kind of love of a
father for his kid... there was a guy there who brought his toddler
daughter. I think- there must have been no one available to take care
of her, so it must be tough. She wasn't loud, but every once in a while
she'd make little cuddly noises, and her dad kept playing with her,
trying to calm her down. The officer in the court room told him that if
he couldn't keep the kid quiet, he'd have to be kicked out of the
courtroom and wouldn't be able to see the judge. The man understood,
and tried hard to keep his baby quiet, but at the same time, showing
her a gentle love. I'm not sure why- but I saw there that the love for
his child far exceeded his impending judgment. That even though he was
going through that hardship, he was trying his hardest to be a loving
father. That's what it means to be manly-- that's what it really means to be macho. Eventually,
the officer walked up to him and beckoned, telling him that he'd have
to leave the courtroom... but I also heard the officer tell him, "I'll
call you when it's your turn." --- I prayed, and my turn
came up... and I pleaded guilty. The fine was gonna be $381, which
hurts- but I accepted... then as she was about to let me go, the judge
asked if I had a current license. So I showed it to the officer, and
after he read out loud the date (I registered it right after I got the
ticket), the judge reduced the fine to $200. Praise God!! I can pay
that amount myself, without having to trouble my mom with it! (though I
troubled her enough-- I wasn't able to pay the much more expensive
impounding fees). Then, on the way home from the court, I was
driving on Valley Blvd. when a mail-truck made a left out of a driveway
right in front of me. I wasn't going really fast, either- and I swerved
in time to avoid hitting him. I was so calm, though... in fact, I was
more nervous inside the courtroom. I realize that God saved me a
lot of trouble and money... but He saved that man's life! If I'd hit
him, it would've been right on the driver's side... and mail-trucks
don't have doors.

| Today, I'm working on a fanart of Sakura and Hinata from Rival Schools (not Narutoad... though I like that Sakura and Hinata, too). When mum came home, I reminded her that it was Halloweeeeeen, so we were trying to figure out what to do for dinner. I ended up eating some Korean instant noodles (which I heated up before, but forgot about), then as we were further slothing around as mum started to half-heartedly salvage some leftovers, I asked her if she wanted to go to the Harvest Festival on a whim. I heard about it on the radio -- it's hosted by Calvary Chapel Montebello... since I listen to 107.9, I hear their pastor pretty often-- and actually most of what I've learned comes from that radio station. So, mum and I decided to get off our lazy butts and drive down there. I drove past a section of Rosemead that was very empty... low trees and brush that just expanded out- and it's strange. It felt like I was in a different state for that moment. Anyway, we got to the place and it was really packed.... we circled around the park twice to find a place to park (ended up finding a spot not all that far away!) and walked over to the entrance. Once we got in, we looked around for something to do... most of the people were crammed around the food vendors (I was hoping to get the other half of my dinner there, too)... so then we were about to start meandering around when... wait! I heard a faint voice that sounded like an announcer... My mom thought it sounded like some person advertising a haunted mansion or some-such... but I was pretty convinced it was a pastor giving a message. So we beelined over, and caught the latter half of Pastor Pancho Juarez's message. It was really cool to see him in person-- because I'd heard his voice on the radio for the past 2 years. About 7 people came up and were saved. Afterwards, another guy came up (I forget his name), who did a stand-up comedy sketch interspersed with the gospel. Since it was (apparently) a predominantly Mexican neighborhood, his jokes were mostly about how "Mesicans" do things, and how his ghetto his wife was. It was reaaaally funny! He went, "My wife... she's 40 years old now- still looks like she's in high school!" (crowd whistles), "... that's because she is still in high school. She can't graduate!" After the message, mum and I pretty much decided to leave (since we weren't really all that interested in the carnival-ish entertainments), and made our way home. Mom just retired to sleep-- was it a "Happy Halloween"? .... no, it's just a "Happy Day"! -Note: 'cause I totally know I'm gonna completely forget this... Xanga wants me to update my password, so I added a ! to the end! | | |
| My house smells like durians right now. =\ I ate a bite. It wasn't.. bad, per se. Weird. Reminescing about praise night... it was pretty fun, and a long day. Came around 3PM to practice, and hung around with the worship team as the mood settled in. It was a bit confusing, since I wasn't quite sure which songs I was playing what on- but in the end, I think it turned out well. It was nice to see people there that weren't from our church- and it was also nice to see parents there as well. Mom went, too- I'm really happy about that. I don't think I've ever worshipped next to my mom before. She said my singing voice had something she called a "signature" to it, and that it could be nice if I decided to develop it more. ... well, after I sing like, one or two songs- I always feel like gagging. Sunny and Emmelynn were there. I think I was really sleepy that day, because I'd stayed up until like, 3AM the day before. =\ but I was more awake by the time praise night began. =) Daniel wasn't able to come- I think he was shy. | | |
